Introduction
This dual programme offered by the European School of Law Toulouse is designed to provide students with practical knowledge of both the French and English legal systems, as well as a comparative perspective.
Objectives
This dual competence, fluency in two specialist languages and experience of student mobility are undeniable assets for lawyers wishing to work internationally.
Students will study the fundamentals of Common law and French law. As a result, students are able to gain a good understanding of the differences and similarities between the French and English systems.

Specificities
The double degree programme starts at the University of Toulouse Capitole for the first two years of the degree and continues at Bangor University for the validation of the LLB and the 3rd year of the degree.
At the end of the three-year programme, students will be awarded an LLB in English Law and French Law.

Due to limited capacity, all programmes at the European School of Law Toulouse are subject to selection. In addition to the qualities required for legal studies, this double degree in French Law and English Law requires a very strong motivation to pursue legal studies in a multicultural context (compulsory period of study in the partner university) and a solid command of French and English (at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Conditions of specific applications
INFORMATION ON TUITION FEES
Students pay tuition fees to the University of Toulouse Capitole in their 1st and 2nd years and to Bangor University in their 3rd year. Fees at Bangor University are set by Bangor University (more information on this page: https://www.bangor.ac.uk/student-administration/fees/). However, Bangor University offers an annual scholarship to UT Capitole double degree students. The fee is approximately £11,000 for UT Capitole students eligible for home fees. The new fees apply to students selected from 2022 who will be studying in Bangor from September 2024.
Please note: Students who are classed as 'international' are not eligible for the 'home fee' rate. Criteria such as place of residence - and not just nationality - are also taken into account when determining 'international' student status. For example, if a student has lived outside the European Union before arriving in Toulouse, they may not be eligible for this preferential rate. Please take the time to check all the conditions that need to be met to ensure that you are eligible for Home Fees. Conditions of admission / Conditions of successful application
Holders or prospective holders of the French baccalauréat or an equivalent diploma from the European Union, the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation should apply on the website www.parcoursup.fr between 17 January 2024 and 14 March 2024.
Candidates will be short-listed and then interviewed. The timetable and interview procedures will be finalised in the first quarter of 2024. A maximum of 30 students will be selected.

Successful completion of this three-year programme will provide students with the necessary qualifications for further study with a view to a legal career in either country.
Students may wish to pursue a Master's degree or an LLM abroad.

The LLB, a qualifying law degree, is the academic prerequisite for professional training leading to admission to the Bar in the UK.
